Bulldogs Trail After Day One at H-Y-P

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Three third-place finishes topped the day for the Yale men's swimming and diving team, who trail both Harvard (146-40) and Princeton (121-65) after the first day of the two-day Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet.

Diver Eric Olson gave the Elis their first top-three finish of the day when he took third in the 3-meter diving (310.15), and Yale's 'A' relay squad duplicated that finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:22.17. Freshman West Cuthbert got off to a hot start in his first H-Y-P competition, taking fourth overall in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.33), and sophomore Mike Dominski followed that up with a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (50.03). Another freshman, Mike Bogese, also had a big day, taking third in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:29.40)
