AUSTIN, Texas- Yale sophomore Brian Hogan swam to another top 40 finish at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Friday. Hogan tied with Texas junior Keith Murphy for 38th place in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:36.97. He was the only Ivy League swimmer to compete in the event. Brown senior Thomas Glenn was scratched from the event before prelims.
On Saturday, the last day of the meet, Hogan will compete in his signature event: the 1,650-yard freestyle. He is the 10th seeded swimmer in the 1,650, thanks to his 14:53.36 swim against Harvard and Princeton. He will have the chance to bring Yale into the select group of college swimming programs that have scored points at the 2014 Championships. The top 16 finishers in each event earn points for their team.
The 1,650-yard freestyle is scheduled to start at 4:45 p.m. Live video of the race, and all of Saturday's finals, will be streamed live on ESPN3 at the following link:
