Giorgio-Giorgio, as he is called by those who can't spell or pronounce his last name, hails from Skopje, Macedonia. He spent his junior year in the US, studying at Deerfield Academy, but returned to Macedonia for his final year of secondary schooling. He was named Macedonia's top senior swimmer and is considered a candidate for his country's Olympic team in 2008. While at Deerfield he broke pool records as well as being a member of two All-American relays (200 Medley/400 Freestyle). Gjorgji swims mainly middle distance and sprint freestyle (100, 200 & 500). In his years at Yale he has swam all freestyle distances from 50-500 for the Bulldogs. He was an ECAC championship finalist and is looking forward to contributing to the 2007-2008 team at both the ECAC and Ivy levels. Gjorgji intends to double major in both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He selected Yale because of its strengths in those areas and the "combination of athletics and academics" it offered him. One of his goals is to "conquer the World as Alexander the Great did", but this time around with further knowledge and wisdom. Gjorgji is a senior in Ezra Stiles College.
