Sam Goldsmith
	Class: Sophomore Hometown: Harrisburg, Pa. High School: Mercersburg Academy Position: Breaststroke / Individual Medley

Sam has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 5, when he joined the West Shore YMCA swim team. During his career at WSY, Sam won multiple state age group titles, additionally recording a number of top 8 and top 16 swims nationally. Sam attended Mercersburg Academy, where he was the captain of the men's swim team in both the '05 - '06 and '06 - '07 seasons. In all of his three years at Mercersburg, Sam finished in the top 5 in the 100 breastroke at the Eastern Prep School Championships. Additionally at this meet, he swam on two winning relays, and finaled in the 200 IM three times. A member of the distinguished Cum Laude society at Mercersburg, Sam earned recognition as a National Merit Scholar, an Eagle Scout, as well as a National AP Scholar. Sam also served as a Prefect, a school tour guide, and as leader of a campus environmental organization. Sam is excited to begin his career as a Bulldog, and is especially proud to be swimming on the same team as his older brother, who graduated in 2008.
