Zurez was the captain of and lettered four times for Aitchison College in swimming. He also played water polo and cricket for Aitchison. He swam the 50 and 100 freestyle and 50 and 100 butterfly. He received the College Color Award in 2006, 2007, and 2008 and the Full Academic Blazer in 2006. He was the team captain for the U-18 Punjab State team. Zurez plans on majoring in electrical engineering. He enjoys theater and photography and was water-phobic until 2005, when his coach taught him how to swim. He is a member of Saybrook College. His uncles were on the national swimming team in Pakistan.
