Kevin is a versatile freestyle swimmer who can swim the whole range of freestyle from sprints to the mile. Swimming for his hometown Portsmouth High School, Kevin was an All-State swimmer on three occasions in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. A member of the Bay and Ocean State Squids, Kevin won the New England Distance Swimmer High Point Award at the New England Open. He was also a Junior National Qualifier in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Voted by his high school classmates as "most likely to succeed," Kevin was valedictorian and was awarded the Portsmouth Student-Athlete of the Year. As a freshmen, Kevin qualified for the EISL Conference Championship team. He swam in the final heat of the 1650 and finished 10th while also swimming lifetime bests in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyles. As a sophomore, Kevin returned as a member of the EISL Conference team and scored in all three of the events he swam - 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyles. At Yale Kevin is a political science major with a concentration in American Government. In his free time he enjoys listening to heavy metal music and playing drums. Kevin is the youngest son of Capt Terry Pudas (USN ret.) and Evelyn Pudas.
