In his senior year he was a member of the team that broke the Senior New England record in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Billy swims IM and backstroke and this summer he made "nationals" in the 200 backstroke. In his first year at Yale Billy placed in the top 16 in all three of his events at Easterns (EISL), the 200 and 400 IM's and 200 Back. An Academic All American his junior and senior years of high school, he was also editor of the school paper, and played varsity baseball in his freshman year of high school. At Yale Bill likes to play pickup basketball and after one year on campus he is a Director of Development for the Yale Economic Review. Billy selected Yale because its the best school in the world and the swim team is the best "team" to swim on in the world. To date his most memorable athletic experience at Yale was swimming his first HYP meet "at home" in the Exhibition (EX) pool. His class will host it all again in his senior year. He also lists watching the Red Sox come back from a 3 games to 0 deficit to beat the Yankees and then go on to win the World Series last year as "most memorable" He brought to campus a "liking" for Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, and still does like it, but is also starting to like the "cookie batter" ice cream at Ashley's Ice Cream in New Haven.
