CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Yale men's swimming and diving team finished 7th at the ECAC Championships with 358 points. Hosts Harvard won the event with 648 points.
The Bulldogs had a strong start to the evening session Sunday, with Ilya Byzov and Reid Madden finished second and third overall aftwer swimming in the fastest heat of the 1650 yard freestyle. Byzov finished in 16:06.21 and Madden's time was 16:09.62. Harvard's Thomas Gray won the event.
After the 1650 heat, Yale qualified swimmers in four of the subsequent five championship finals. Colin McCarthy put in another strong performance at Blodgett Pool today with his fifth place finish in the 200 yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:52.99. Mike Slater and Morgan Locke both finished eighth in their events - the 200 yard breaststroke and 100 yard backstroke respectively.
Ccmplete results are available on the meet webiste. The Bulldogs are next in action starting Thursday morning as they head to Princeton's DeNunzio Pool to compete in the EISL Championships.
