Providence, RI - Yale defeated Brown 178-122 in its regular season finale Saturday in Providence. The Bulldogs took first place in 12 of the 16 events to pull off the victory.
Junior Alex Righi participated in four first place finishes for the Bulldogs. Righi started off the day with teammates Matt Sweitzer, Chris Pool, and Ege Gurdeniz with a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. In the 100-yard back, Righi edged teammate Thomas Robinson for a first place finish with a time of 50.92. Righi finished with a time of 21.05 in the 50-yard free to take first place in the event. In the 100-yard free, Righi won first place with a time of 45.42.
In the 100-yard breast, Sweitzer edged teammate Colin Stalnecker for first place with a time of 58.39. Stalnecker placed second with a time of 58.81. Sweitzer also took a first place finish in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:09.11.
Pool led the way in the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:52.09. Tyler Schied finished in second in the event with a time of 1:52.67. Pool's 51.16 in the 100-yard fly also gave him a first place finish in that event.
Senior Jeffrey Lichtenstein took first place in both diving events. In the 1-meter diving, Lichtenstein finished with a score of 337.20 to earn first place. Litchtenstein cruised to a first place finish in the 3-meter diving with a score of 389.62.
In the 200-yard IM, senior Billy Rubenstein took first place with a time of 1:53.66.
