Bulldogs in Seventh After Day One at ECACs

Pittsburgh, PA - The Bulldogs concluded day one at the ECAC Championship in seventh place with 95 points Friday in Pittsburgh, PA. Yale trails Marist College by only three points and Seton Hall University by six points.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Bulldogs took 11th place with a time of 1:25.99. Senior Gjorgji Gjeorgjievski, freshman Lugar Choi, senior Alex Goldsmith, and sophomore Jon Taylor earned the Bulldogs 12 points in the race.

Junior Paol Benvenuto and freshman Jerrold Lee took third and fourth place in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 4:35.66 and 4:38.80, respectively. The two earned Yale a combined 31 points. Senior Reid Madden followed the two up with a sixth place finish for an additional 13 points.

In the 200-yard IM, Lugar Choi took seventh place with a time of 1:54.96 to earn Yale 12 points. Taylor won Yale 3 points with a 14th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle by finishing the race in 21.57.

Yale concluded the day with a seventh place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Freshman Jason Choi, freshman Sam Goldsmith, Alex Goldsmith, and Lugar Choi combined for a time of 3:29.02 to earn Yale 24 points.
