Righi Captures 10th in 100 Free in NCAA Championships

March 18, 2007

Minneapolis, MN - Sophomore Alex Righi concluded his NCAA Championships by finishing in 10th place in the 100 Free Finals Saturday in Minneapolis. Righi broke his previous Yale record by posting a 42.75 in the finals after qualifying with a time of 42.92.

The sophomore concluded the 2007 NCAA Championships with a 14th place finish in the 50 Free, a 13th place finish in the 100 Back, and a 10th place finish in the 100 Free. Righi's impressive sub 43 time in the 100 Free was good enough to help him edge out Texas's Matt McGinnis for 10th place.

The impressive showing for Righi concludes a great year for the swimmer. He will represent the United States in the Pan Am games in Rio De Janiero in July of 2007.
