Federal Way, Wash. - Junior Alex Righi continued his success at the NCAA Division I Championships this year with an 11th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in the second day of competition at the University of Washington Friday.
A day after capturing second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.08, Righi placed 11th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 47.22. Seeded 23rd in the competition, Righi qualified for a spot to compete in the top 16 with a 14th place finish in a time of 47.38 in the preliminary round of competition.
Also competing for Yale, senior Jeffrey Lichtenstein finished 28th in the 3-meter diving with a score of 288.95.
Righi will conclude his NCAA Championships this year by competing in the 100-yard freestyle Saturday.
