Jimmy Veazey, Andy Foss, Captain Alex Nash, and Jack Cooney all qualified for the final heats with their top-8 finishes in the preliminaries in the second day of the Terrapin Cup Invitational. Veazey finished fifth in the 100 fly, Foss came in 8th in the 200 free, and Nash and Cooney finished 5th and 8th in the 100 backstroke.
In the 400 IM, Matt Aldrich just missed qualifying, but earned a spot in the consolation heat with a 9th place finish and time of 4:13.68. Lou Krasenics came in 10th with 4:13.99, while Jeff Kelsey and Cole Heggi ended up 14th and 15th in the race.
Veazey's time of 50.61 in the 100 fly qualified him for the finals, and Nash earned a spot in the consolations with a time of 52.31 and a 16th place finish.
In the 200 free, Foss swam to a 1:42.40 finish, good for 8th, while Cooney ended up in 15th with a time of 1:43.05.
Nash earned his spot in the finals for the 100 backstroke with his time of 51.77, while Cooney was close behind him at 52.12.
