Bulldogs Cap Off Day Two Of The U.S. Open

Alex Righi captured two top ten finishes on the second day of the U.S. Open, held at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Ala.

Righi came in ninth in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 57.81 and he teamed up with Colin Stalnecker, Ben Dzialo and Andrew Foss to finish eighth in the 400-meter medley relay (3:57.59).

Foss also competed in the 200-meter freestyle, where he finished in 22nd place thanks to a time of 1:55.95.

Tomorrow the following men's and women's events will take place: 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter breaststroke, 200-meter butterfly and the 400-meter freestyle relay. The women's 800-meter freestyle and the men's 1500-meter freestyle will also take place.

The Bulldogs are competing against a number of U.S. Olympic swimmers and high-profile international stars at the U.S Open. Approximately 600 athletes are registered for the meet.
