NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale concludes its fall schedule this weekend by hosting the 2005 Nutmeg Invitational. The meet brings a total of nine teams to the RJ Kiphuth Exhibition Pool for two days of competition in the NCAA/Ivy League Championship format. The sessions on Saturday, December 3rd start at noon and at 7 p.m. On Sunday, December 4th the 1650 Freestyle event will be held at 9 am, with the balance of that day's events starting at noon. The diving sessions will start Saturday at 4:30 pm (3 meter) and on Sunday at 10 am (1 meter).
The meet draws teams from both in and outside of Connecticut. Although no team score will be kept, area swimmers from Central Connecticut State University and the University of Bridgeport will be contesting the 40-event program along with the swimmers and divers from Yale. The Yale squad will be missing six swimmers from the men's squad who will be at the US Open at Auburn.
As was the case two weekends ago when the Bulldogs traveled to Virginia for the Patriot Invitational, this home meet brings a group of schools representing a wide range of major conferences including Fordham University (Atlantic 10), Syracuse University (Big East), Boston College (Atlantic Coast), and Williams College (NESCAC).
