Yale Tops Navy 5-2

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bulldogs improved to 4-3 with a 5-2 victory over Navy Saturday to sweep a weekend of matches at the Naval Academy.  

Yale won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.  At the No. 1 doubles slot, the doubles team of sophomore Erik Blumenkranz and Joel Samaha won 8-5.  The duo of senior captain Connor Dawson and freshman John Huang rolled to an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.  

Playing No. 1 singles, Huang cruised to a straight set 6-2, 6-4 win over Owen Bullard.  Freshman Daniel Hoffman pulled out a 6 -3, 4-6, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.  At the No. 4 singles slot, Blumenkranz defeated Jeremy New 7-5, 6-4.  Samaha battled to a 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 3-2 (7-4) victory at No. 5 singles over Zach Nicholson.
