CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 64 Harvard ended No. 67 Yale's hopes of an Ivy League Title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament Sunday by defeating the Bulldogs 4-3 at Harvard University.  The loss dropped Yale to 15-8 overall and 4-2 in the Ivy League.

The Bulldogs started off the day by dropping the doubles point as the Crimson won two of three doubles matches.  The Yale doubles team of freshman Daniel Hoffman and freshman John Huang won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles, but Harvard took the other two doubles matches.

While Harvard won No. 4 and No. 6 singles in straight sets, Yale managed to grab a straight set victory at No. 5 singles.  Senior captain Connor Dawson, bothered my injury much of the year, rolled to a 6-4, 6-4 win.

With three matches going to third sets, Yale had to find a way to win all three.  Harvard was too much though and won at No. 3 singles.

Freshman Marc Powers improved to 6-0 in Ivy League match play with a 7-6 (1), 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.  Playing No. 2 singles, Huang battled to a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 win.

But the Bulldogs fell 4-3 to the Crimson.  With No. 46 Columbia's 6-1 win over Princeton Sunday, Columbia clinched the outright Ivy League Title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Championship for the second straight year.

Yale will look to finish it season with a win and a 5-2 Ivy League record when it takes on Brown Saturday.
