New Haven, Conn. – Yale completed the second day of the Princeton-Farnsworth Invitational, with sophomore Marc Powers and the doubles team of freshmen Zachary Dean and Tommy Ratchford advancing to finals of their respective draws.
In the A singles draw, Powers defeated Penn State's Jason Lee 6-2, 6-3 before beating Penn's Eugen Brazdil 6-2, 6-1. In Sunday's final, Powers will face Penn State's Eddie Bourchier.
In C doubles, the Dean/Ratchford team topped FDU's Hemy/Devaux-Lovell 8-4 duo to advance to Sunday's final, where they will face the Kalanin/Hove pairing from Buffalo.
In the B singles draw, junior Joel Samaha won his second round match against Cornell's Mirza Klis 6-3, 6-2 before falling to Penn State's Taylor Cohen 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals.
