Yale Hosts Connecticut State Championships Beginning Friday

New Haven, Conn. – The Bulldogs will host the 2010 Connecticut State Championships starting Friday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

The tournament features players from Yale, Quinnipiac, UConn, Sacred Heart, Fairfield, and Hartford.  48 singles players and 24 doubles teams will be in action this weekend.

The Bulldogs feature eight singles players and four doubles team.  Seniors Jordan Abergel and Ryan Berman, juniors Erik Blumenkranz and Joel Samaha, sophomore Zachary Dean and freshmen Tommy Ratchford, Patrick Chase and Kyle Dawson will all play in the round of 32 Friday afternoon following first-round byes. 

The doubles teams, which will also all receive first-round byes, will be Ratchford/Dean, Blumenkranz/Abergel, Samaha/Chase and Dawson/Berman.
