CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Coming off a 4-3 loss against No. 59 Binghamton in the first round of the ECAC Men's Tournament on Saturday, the Bulldogs (2-5) lost 5-2 to St. John's on Sunday morning.
The Bulldogs' two victories of the day came at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Sophomore Marc Powers won a two set match (6-4, 6-3) at the No. 1 spot. Classmate Daniel Hoffman won his match in a 10-7 tie-breaker, overcoming a first-set deficit for the win (4-6, 6-4, 10-7). At No. 6 singles, senior captain Calvin Bennett came back to win the second set after a 6-1 loss in the first. However, Bennett came up just short, losing in a close third set (6-1, 4-6, 6-3).
At No. 2 doubles, Hoffman and junior Erik Blumenkranz won by an 8-3 margin.
The Bulldogs will host Stony Brook, Fairleigh Dickinson and Marist on Saturday.
