Hagermoser Falls in Semis of Jersey Draw; Wang Loses in Consolation Finals of Nassau Draw
PRINCETON, N.J. – Day two of the Farnsworth Ivy Plus tournament at Princeton's Lenz Tennis Center Saturday saw one Yale singles player advance as far as the semis in a main draw, and another advance to the finals in a consolation draw.
Yale had three singles players in main draw quarterfinals on Saturday. In the Tiger Draw sophomore Tyler Lu, ranked No. 84 in the country, fell to Columbia's Winston Lin 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
In the Jersey Draw, sophomore Alex Hagermoser gutted out a 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(0) win vs. Max Fliegner of Dartmouth in the quarterfinals before falling to Brown's Brandon Yeoh in the semis.
In the Whitman Draw quarterfinal round, freshman Fedor Andrienko fell to MJ Every of St. John's in three sets, 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2.
Yale also had a doubles team still alive entering Saturday. In the Orange Draw, the team of Lu and senior Daniel Faierman lost 8-5 in the quarterfinals to a team from St. John's.
Play concludes Sunday.
