Brown, Hagermoser, Krumholz and Photiades Notch Wins Against Princeton
PHILADELPHIA – Members of the Yale men's tennis team took on players from the Princeton squad on Sunday at the Penn Classic. Playing at Penn's Hamlin Tennis Center and Levy Pavilion, four Bulldogs recorded singles victories against their Ancient Eight opponents.
Senior captain Zachary Krumholz cemented his status as a standout player at the Penn Classic when he capped off his tournament with his third victory in as many matches. Sunday's win over Princeton's Ben Quazzo was his first straight-set triumph, however, as he emerged with a 7-6(5), 6-1 win.
Also enjoying success at the Hamlin Tennis Center and Levy Pavilion for the third day in a row were sophomore Alex Hagermoser, who defeated Mo El Tonbari 6-3, 6-2, and sophomore Photos Photiades, who overcame Florin Radu in a tight second-set tiebreaker to complete a 6-0, 7-6 win. Junior Jason Brown, meanwhile, notched a win against Princeton's Michael Katz.
