Notes: Cody's brother, Denis Lin, played on the Stanford men's tennis team; his sister, Veronica Lin, swam and played tennis at the varsity level for Wellesley College. His cousins Carol and Hank Yan also have links to the Ivy League. In terms of connections to the Yale tennis team, Cody competed in the same USTA section as Yale teammate Ryan Cheng and knew him personally prior to applying. His hobbies include hiking, listening to music, learning about technology, appreciating art/architecture, and eating delicious food. During high school, he engaged in volunteer work and taught tennis lessons for a good cause: the Sue Burke MS Youth Foundation, a charity started by his first tennis coach in Colorado.

Why Yale? "I chose Yale not only because I wanted to go further from home and be more independent, but also because Yale offers a particularly tight-knit, unique student body and one of the strongest alumni networks. I was also attracted to its reputable liberal arts education and community of caring mentors, professors and coaches."
