Bulldogs Fall 4-3 to Army

Yale and Army split their singles matches 3-3, but the Military Academy was able to win two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point and the narrow 4-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Yale won its No. 1 and No. 2 matches in straight sets, with Brandon Wai defeating John Houghton 6-2, 6-3 and Ryan Murphy defeating Carl Fisher 6-2, 6-4.

The Elis also won their No. 6 match, as Johnny Lu bested Eddie Kang 7-5, 6-4. Army, however, took the Nos. 3, 4, and 5 matches.

Milosz Gudzowski was defeated by Sebastian Salas 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in a close match at No. 3, while Michael Good defeated Rowan Reynolds 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4.

Kyle Roybal wa a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Rory Green at No. 5 to give the teams a 3-3 split in singles.

In doubles, Yale's Murphy/Wai defeated Fisher/Roybal 8-3, but the Elis dropped their other two matches to lose the doubles point. Houghton/Salas from Army defeated Chris Lawler/Reynolds 8-6, while Good/Collins were 8-5 winners over Gudzowski/Lu to win the competition.
