Yale Loses 5-2 to Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 6 seed Yale lost to No. 3 seed Brown 5-2 in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Championships Saturday in Cambridge. Yale will face Boston College Sunday in a consolation match at 8 a.m.

Playing No. 3 singles, junior Connor Dawson battled to a 6-3, 7-6, 7-3 victory over Nathanial Gorham. Freshman Erik Blumenkranz pulled out a 7-6, 1-6, 4-3 win at No. 6 singles.

Yale lost two singles matches in three sets. At No. 1 singles, senior Jeff Dawson could not close the door after winning the first set 6-3. Dawson lost to Jonathan Pearlman in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, senior Michael Caldwell also lost in three sets as he lost to Chris Lee 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
