Bulldogs Advance to Second Round at Boise State Invitational

Boise, ID - The Bulldogs (5-6) advanced to the second round of the Boise State Invitational with a 4-1 victory over the University of Portland (6-6-1) Friday. Yale won straight set matches at No. 3, 4, 5, and 6 singles in the victory.

At No. 3 singles, sophomore Connor Dawson cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 over Filip Zivkovic. Freshman Calvin Bennett defeated opponent Bryan Thorp 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, sophomore Matt Schimmel rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Evan Scheining. Junior Josh Lederman continued his recent success at No. 6 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Charlie Yemm.

Yale will take on No. 35 Boise State Friday in the semifinals of the tournament.
