Bulldogs Top Manhattan College 6-1

New Haven, CT - The Bulldogs (6-8) defeated Manhattan College (0-5) 6-1 Saturday at home in their last non-Ivy match of the season.

Yale swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, junior Josh Lederman and freshman Calvin Bennett defeated Peter Czink and Mihai Nichifor 8-6. Junior Jeff Dawson and sophomore Connor Dawson cruised to an 8-0 win over Michael Borger and Jeffrey Conklin at No. 2 doubles At the third doubles spot, junior Michael Caldwell and freshman Jordan Abergel defeated Chris Tucci and Will Earl 8-0.

The Bulldogs won straight set matches at No. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 singles. At No. 2 singles, Caldwell rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Czink. Bennett took care of business at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Conklin. Lederman won 6-0, 6-0 over Tucci at No. 4 singles. Playing No. 5 singles, sophomore Matthew Schimmel defeated Earl 6-0, 6-0. Junior Tom Santoro cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Borger at No. 6 singles.

Yale will open its Ivy League season next weekend away at Princeton and Penn.
