NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale swept singles and took two of three doubles matches to post a 7-0 win over Dartmouth Sunday afternoon in New Haven. Just two of the singles matches went to a third set, including No. 1 where No. 91 Brandon Wai won 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
The doubles point was closely contested. Dartmouth picked up an 8-5 win at No. 1 behind the team of Stephen McGaughey and David Waslen, but Yale got an 8-3 win at No. 2 from Wai and Michael Caldwell. That left the No. 3 match as the deciding factor, and Milosz Gudzowski and Chris Lawler pulled out a 9-8 win there to earn the point for Yale.
The Bulldogs (11-8, 4-2 Ivy) conclude their season Wednesday at Brown (2 p.m.).
