Bulldogs Compete in Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational

The Yale men's tennis team traveled to Princeton today to compete in the Farnsworth Invitational. In the open flight of men's singles, Rowan Reynolds '06 was defeated in the first round 6-2, 6-4 by Marty Moore of Columbia. Michael Caldwell '09 lost his match to Hans Plukas of PRI 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. Milosz Gudzowski `06 was beaten by Mikhail Bekker of UPenn 6-4, 6-2. Jeff Dawson '09 pulled through with a stellar ending to a close match, finally dominating over Daniel Brous of COR 6-3, 36, 7-6.

In the B flight, Rory Green `08 had an outstanding day, smashing Jake Feldman of Columbia 7-5, 6-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. Joe Vellanikaran `08 was defeated by Justin Fox of UPenn 7-5, 6-3.

In the open doubles flight, Green and Reynolds were defeated by UPenn 8-5. Gudzowski and Caldwell were beaten by Princeton 9-7.

In the B doubles flight, Matthew Feldman '06 and Chris Lawler '07 suffered an 8-5 loss.

The Bulldogs continue quarterfinal play tomorrow.
