The Yale men's tennis team finished strong at the 37th Annual Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational. Milosz Gudzowski '06 won the consolation singles bracket, and Joe Vellanikaran '08 made it to the finals in the consolation B singles bracket. In doubles play, Jeff Dawson '09 and Josh Lederman '09 won the B doubles final.
The main singles draw went according to form as the top two seeds, Jason Pinsky and Mikhail Bekker of Penn, met in Sunday's final. Pinsky lost the first set to his teammate before recovering to win a tiebreak in the second set and take the third set 6-3.
In the consolation draw, Gudzowski defeated Columbia's Michael Accordino from Columbia in straight sets to the win the consolation singles bracket from the main draw. Gudzowski won in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6.
Vellanikaran competed against Columbia's Jake Feldman in the finals of the consolation singles bracket from the B flight. Feldman won in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles action, Dawson and Lederman won the B doubles final 8-5.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, September 30, at the ECAC Team Championships in New York.
