Yale Defeated by No. 1 Seed Penn State at ECAC Invitational

Flushing Meadows, NY - The Yale men's tennis team lost to the No. 1 seed Penn State this morning at the ECAC Division I Men's Tennis Invitational quarterfinals. Yale won one doubles and one singles match, but was ultimately defeated by Penn State 6-1.

In doubles play, Rowan Reynolds '06 and Rory Green '07 defeated Penn State 8-4 to claim victory at the No. 1 spot. Brandon Wai and Josh Lederman lost at No. 2, 8-5, and Milosz Gudzowski and Mike Caldwell were defeated 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.

In singles, Wai was the only Bulldog to see victory, easily winning the No. 1 spot in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Gudzowski and Connor Dawson '09 each had games lasting three sets, but were both unable to pull through for the final win.

Yale continues play tomorrow, Oct. 2, in Flushing Meadows.
