FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - On Thursday, senior Jeffrey Lachman closed his Yale career with a strong performance at the NCAA Division I Championships. The meet, hosted by the University of Arkansas, is the culmination of the collegiate track & field season. Lachman was the lone Bulldog who qualified for this extremely competitive meet, in which he finished 19th overall in the discus throw.
While Lachman did not earn a spot in Saturday's finals, he capped a very successful Yale career with a ninth-place finish in the first of two flights, throwing 54.56 meters (179'0") on his first attempt.
Lachman was one of the driving forces for the Bulldogs this year. A consistent contributor to the team, he also set a new Yale record in the discus throw by nearly ten feet (191'3"). He also set new personal bests in the shot put and the hammer throw, and is ranked No. 11 and No. 9 for Yale in these events, respectively.
