Bulldogs Close Competition at IC4As
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Bulldogs competed on the final day of IC4A Championships with senior Chris Labosky in the 800-meter run and junior David Smith in the shot put. The Bulldogs came in 38th place overall with eight points.
Smith came in 25th place in the shot put with a throw of 15.11m. He has made above the 15-meter mark for the last couple of meets and looks ready for a strong season next year.
Labosky went under 1:50 again in the finals of the 800-meter run, clocking 1:49.25 to place fifth and score for the Bulldogs. It was a close race in which all seven runners finished within two seconds of each other. With Labosky's time of 1:48.25 from Saturday's preliminaries, Labosky has the 11th fastest time in the Eastern Region, according to tfrrs.org and is expected to qualify for the NCAA Regional Championships.
Several other Bulldogs may also qualify, based on their performances from this season. The top 48 performances in the Eastern Region automatically qualify for the NCAA Regional in Greensboro, N.C. on May 28-29. The list of qualifiers will be announced by May 21.
