Annual Spring Break Trip Takes Team to Northridge Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two weeks after concluding their indoor season at the IC4A Championships, the Elis will take to the outdoors this Saturday at the Northridge Invitational hosted by California State University at Northridge. The Bulldogs will line up against a field predominated by West Coast teams, including several California schools and teams from Alaska Anchorage and Idaho State.

As the Bulldogs make the transition outdoors, they will first need to adjust to the 400-meter track length. In addition, the outdoor season features a number of events that are not held indoors. Junior Mike Levine will take the first step toward defending his Ivy League crown in the discus throw, and steeplechase specialist Nathan Richards will be glad to return to the obstacle course. Meanwhile, hurdlers like freshman Daniel Kemp and sophomore Nnamdi Udeh will be able to extend their stride in the 400-meter hurdles, and throwers will also get a first look at the hammer and javelin throws.

Apart from the hammer throw, which will be held on Friday at noon, all events will take place on Saturday beginning at 8:40 a.m. Click here for a full schedule of track events and here for the field events. Results will be available after the meet's conclusion on www.directathletics.com and www.yalebulldogs.com.
