BOSTON, Ma. - Senior Andre Ivankovic and freshman Vincent Vaughns advanced through the first day of preliminaries at the IC4A Championships and will join sophomore Austin Laut and junior Jake Hoops in finals competition tomorrow.
Ivankovic had the third-fastest qualifying time in the preliminaries of the 1-mile run, and will race tomorrow in the finals against nine other athletes. He finished fifth in the event at last year's championships, and will be looking for a spot on the podium this time around in his final indoor championships.
In the 200-meter dash preliminaries, Vaughns finished with the tenth-fastest time in the field. The twelve qualifiers for the 200-meter finals were separated by only six-tenths of a second from top to bottom, and the race for the championship tomorrow is shaping up to be extraordinarily tight.
The other two Bulldogs in action tomorrow are Laut in the pole vault and Hoops in the shot put. Laut is coming off of a fourth-place finish in the vault at the Ivy League championships, and had the sixth-highest qualifying vault for the IC4As.
Live results for tomorrow's events will be available here, and a full recap will be posted after the meet.
