NEW HAVEN, Conn. -  Fourteen Yale men's track and field athletes will likely compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Princeton this weekend. The meet begins on Friday and runs through Sunday,  and brings together athletes from schools around the East Coast. It is also the last chance for individuals to put up qualifying times for the NCAA East Preliminary Round, which will take place next weekend.

Several Bulldogs who have already qualified for the NCAA East Prelims, including seniors Marc-Andre Alexandre and James Randon, will not compete this weekend at the IC4As in order to prepare for the NCAAs. However, we will still see many of the Bulldogs' top performers of the season in action this weekend.

Junior Paedyn Gomes will likely be one of the top Elis to watch for at the IC4As as he competes in the 110-meter hurdles. He holds the fifth-fastest time in the IC4As this season at 14.00 seconds, which he ran last weekend at the Ivy League Championships. Senior Austin Loewen will also race for the Elis in this event.

The Bulldogs will also have a strong shot at placing in the 4x800-meter relay, which will be run by senior Tim Cox, freshman James Lewis, freshman Austin Stoner, and junior Michael Yuan. The team currently has the seventh-fastest time in the IC4As, and were one of the top qualifiers for this weekend's meet.

Only five Bulldogs will compete in individual running events this weekend. Junior Adam Houston and freshman Jonathan Lomogda will race the 5000-meter run, while senior Andre Ivankovic will compete in the 1500-meter run on the hunt for a NCAA-qualifying time. Lewis will also compete individually in the 800-meter run, and senior Chandler Crusan rounds out the Bulldog runners in the 400-meter dash.

Several Bulldogs will compete in various jumping and throwing events this weekend as well. Sophomore Austin Laut will be one to watch in the pole vault, as will freshman Bruno Jednacak in the long jump. Sophomore CJ McCord will compete in the high jump, and sophomore Jimmy Shih in the triple jump. We will also see sophomore Marcus Downs in the discus throw, and junior Jake Hoops in the shot put.

This weekend's events begin on Friday evening and run through Sunday evening. A full schedule and live results are available here, and a recap will be posted after each full day of the meet.
