  • Dahl and Siegler into 1500m Finals at NCAA East Preliminary Round

    In a thrilling first evening of competition at the NCAA Regionals, both of Yale’s 1500 meter runners, Sophomore Nick Dahl and Junior Allen Siegler, qualified for the National quarterfinals on Saturday. Meanwhile, Senior Austin Laut capped off a fantastic career as a Bulldog in the Pole Vault, finishing 19th.

    Senior pole vaulter Austin Laut, junior 1500m runner Allen Siegler and sophomore 1500m runner Nick Dahl head to Jacksonville, Fla., this week to compete in the NCAA East Preliminary Round for a place at the national championship.

    The Yale men's track and field team completed another successful weekend at Princeton on Sunday at the ECAC Championships, marking the last chance to qualify for the NCAA First Round. The Bulldog highlight of the day was the second-place finish of CJ McCord in the high jump.

  • Bulldogs Begin Post-Season at IC4A Championships

    The Yale men’s track and field team is beginning its post-season Saturday and Sunday at the IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Weaver Stadium on Princeton’s campus. IC4A’s has a storied past of bringing together the best athletes in the northeast region, and presently, only those athletes with season bests that meet the qualifying standards are invited to compete.   • Four Bulldogs Awarded All-Ivy Honors

    Following the conclusion of the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships last weekend, the Ivy League has announced the first and second-team All-Ivy lists. The athletes who were victorious in their events have been named first-team All-Ivy, whereas those who finished runner-up have been distinguished second-team All-Ivy. As there are 22 events scored at Ivy Heps, there are only 44 opportunities to earn All-Ivy honors, distributed among the hundreds of athletes who compete at the championships. This year, four Bulldogs earned the distinction of second-team All-Ivy, after finishing runners-up in their respective events.
  • Young Bulldogs Shine at Ivy Heps

    The Yale men’s track and field team concluded competition earlier at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, placing eighth with 34 points. Princeton won the team title with 182 points. Highlighting the day for the Bulldogs were the runner-up 4x100m relay team of Ekrem Ayhan, Kyle Macauley, Juma Sei and Vincent Vaughns, as well as the runner-up effort by Sei in the 400m dash.
  • Five Bulldogs Advance to Day 2 of Ivy Heps

    The Yale men’s track and field team completed its first day of competition earlier at the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, hosted by Princeton. The Bulldogs qualified five athletes across four events from today’s preliminaries to tomorrow’s finals, and had some solid performances in the finals that were contested today.   • Bulldogs Head to Princeton for Ivy League Heptagonal Championships

    The Yale men’s track and field team will be traveling to New Jersey for the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, to be held Saturday and Sunday at the Weaver Track on Princeton’s campus. The Bulldogs are entering the meet with a strong squad, and they are looking to improve upon their eighth-place finish from the 2018 championships.   • Bulldogs Wrap Up Regular Season at Springtime Invitational

    The Yale men’s track and field team competed at the Yale Springtime Invitational Sunday, its final meet of the regular season, and now has its sights set on the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships May 4-5. For some of the Bulldogs, today marked the final competition of their 2019 seasons, while the remaining athletes were likely tuning-up for the upcoming championships. 
  • Bulldogs to Host Final Regular Season Meet

    The Yale men’s track and field team has one meet of the regular season, before the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships May 4-5. This meet will take place at home Sunday, as the Bulldogs will be hosting the Yale Springtime Invitational at the Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex. This meet will serve as a tune-up for those set to compete at the Heptagonal Championships, as well as a culmination of the 2019 season for those not.

    Although just five members of the Yale men’s track and field team competed at the Penn Relays on Thursday night, the group of distance runners had notable success, running personal and season’s bests in their respective events.
  • Six Bulldogs Headed to Penn Relays

    The Yale men’s track and field team will be sending six athletes to compete at the 125th edition of the Penn Relays Thursday night, held at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus. The Penn Relays is one of the most renowned meets in the country, featuring some of the nation’s best collegians and professionals, and drawing crowds as large as 50,000. The meet attracts stiff competition, and historically leads to blazing fast times, which is what the Bulldogs will be aiming for on Thursday.
  • Relays Successful in Auburn, Bulldogs Find Victories at Home

    The Yale men’s track and field team competed at three different meets across the country Saturday: the War Eagle Invitational hosted by Auburn, the Virginia Challenge hosted by Virginia and the Mark Young Invitational held at the Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex in New Haven. Across the board, the Bulldogs made major advancements at these meets – season bests were improved, competitive efforts were present and victories were had.   • Bulldogs to Auburn, Virginia and Home this Weekend

    The Yale men’s track and field team will be splitting into three different groups and traveling to compete at separate meets across the country Friday and Saturday. The majority of the sprinters will be competing at the War Eagle Invitational, hosted by Auburn, where they hope to find stiff competition in the shorter events. A handful of distance runners will be at the Virginia Challenge, hosted by Virginia, whereas the remainder of the distance squad will remain home for the Mark Young Invitational.   • Laut Breaks School Record at Harvard-Yale

    The Yale men’s track and field team competed strongly at the first home meet of the season on Saturday – the annual Harvard-Yale competition. While the Bulldogs were beaten 68-95, they showed clear improvement from the indoor season across the events and should leave the track with the belief that they can close the gap at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Princeton in three-weeks time.
  • Ten Bulldogs Earn Winter Academic All-Ivy Honors

    The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2018-19 Academic All-Ivy honors in its winter sports today. There were 10 Bulldogs who thrived in their sport and in the classroom, as starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages honored.
  • Yale to Host Harvard at Home

    The Yale men’s track and field team will host Ivy League rivals Harvard at the Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex on Saturday, with historic implications. The Crimson bested the Bulldogs 83-78 in 2018, but the Bulldogs finished ahead of the Crimson at the 2019 Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet during the indoor season. With the two schools being such bitter rivals, excitement is sure to be on the menu this weekend.
  • Bulldogs Successful Across the Board at Sam Howell Invitational

    The Yale men’s track and field team competed at the Sam Howell Invitational today, with a number of athletes setting new personal bests. As today’s meet marked the season debut for many Bulldogs, the team is looking poised to have a successful spring.

    The Yale men’s track and field team will be traveling to Princeton on Saturday to compete in the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted at the Weaver Track and Field Stadium on Princeton’s campus. The meet was initially set to take place over multiple days this weekend, but competition has been compressed into Saturday only, due to impending weather on Friday.

    The Yale men’s track and field team concluded competition earlier at the Raleigh Relays, capping a successful opening weekend for the Elis. Following the impressive performances from Friday’s events, two Bulldogs went into today’s action looking to add to this weekend’s highlights – both athletes set new personal records in their races.

    The Yale men’s track and field team completed its first day of competition at the Raleigh Relays on Friday, with a number of athletes setting new personal records in their respective events. In total, four Bulldogs set new personal bests, and one athlete set a new collegiate best. With more events to take place on Saturday, the tally for personal records could be high this weekend.
  • Bulldogs to Compete at the Raleigh Relays

    The Yale men’s track and field team will kick off the outdoor season on Friday in Raleigh, N.C., at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State. The Raleigh Relays is held over the span of two days, and brings in major talent from the Atlantic coastline. Since the completion of the indoor season, the Bulldogs have been taking time to prepare for the upcoming outdoor season, and many athletes will be beginning their outdoor campaigns at this meet.
  • Dahl Victorious, Bulldogs Seventh at IC4A Championships
    March 03, 2019
    The Yale men’s track and field team concluded its indoor campaign Sunday at the ICAAAA Indoor Championships, hosted by Boston University. The two-day meet featured 10 Bulldogs across six different events, and was highlighted by a victory in the mile by Nick Dahl with a huge personal record of 4:05.10. Several other Bulldogs set new personal and seasonal bests over the weekend, and the team combined for a total of 33 points, placing seventh. 
  • Bulldogs Shine on First Day of IC4As

    The Yale men’s track and field team completed its first day of competition today at the ICAAAA Indoor Championships hosted by Boston University. Seven Bulldogs competed across three events, and three qualified for their respective finals to be held tomorrow.
  • Bulldogs Send 10 Athletes to IC4As

    The Yale men’s track and field team will be traveling to Boston on Saturday for the ICAAAA Championships, to be held at the Track and Tennis Center of Boston University. Each year, following the conclusions of conference championships, the best athletes in the New York/New England region get together for one of the most competitive meets in the country. Since the qualifying standards are tough to match, only the best of the best are invited to compete. This year, 10 Bulldogs will be competing over the two-day meet in their final chances at improving upon their best performances from this indoor season.
  • Bulldogs Conclude Competition at Ivy Heps

    The Yale men’s track and field team concluded competition at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday, finishing eighth with a total of 30 points. Princeton took home the team title with 139.5 points, followed by runners-up Penn with 111 points. The two-day meet featured numerous highlights for the Bulldogs, including a runner-up finish in the pole vault by Austin Laut, a fourth-place jump by CJ McCord in the high jump and an exciting third-place finish by Nich Dahl in the mile.
  • Laut Earns All-Ivy Distinction
    February 24, 2019
    This weekend, the Yale track and field team competed against the rest of the Ivy League at the Heptagonal Indoor Championships, where the top athletes in the conference competed to determine who is the best. The Ivy League has declared standards for each athlete to be considered All-Ivy: the top finisher in each of the 20 individual events will be honored first team All-Ivy, whereas the runner-up in each event will earn second team All-Ivy. Thus, only 40 athletes in total earn All-Ivy status.
