Dantzer and Distance Relay Team Post Wins at Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale won the distance relay medley to highlight the Bulldogs' performance at the Yale Collegiate Invitational Saturday. The Yale "B" team's time of 10:04.29 edged UConn (10:04.64) and the Yale "A" team (10:04.68). Individually, Patrick Dantzer finished first in the 3000m run (8:29.67), beating out Stony Brook's Brian Farrell 8:30.49.

Also in the 3000m run, Andrew Pitts was third (8:39.36) and Jacob Bruene was 12th (9:13.30).

Murat Kayali was second in the mile run (4:21.38), trailing only Southern Connecticut's Ramon Laboy (4:13.14). Connor Kilpatric was 17th (4:43.49).

Dan O'Brien was second in the 60m hurdles (8.30), behind UConn's Verrol Jackson (8.25).

John Langhauser was second in the shot put (15.65m), trailing only Evan Lasher (16.96m). Jeff Lachman was 11th (13.40m) and Nate Noll was 12th (13.14m). Langhauser was 11th in the weight throw (14.56m), followed by Lachman (12th, 13.93m) and Noll (18th, 12.66m). Lachman was also 6th in the pole vault (4.35m).

Sam Fox was fourth in the high jump (1.95m).

Justin Thaler was 10th in the 800m run (2:02.98). John Hannon was 12th (2:03.92), Michael Marino was 14th (2:04.71) and Dan Serna was 22nd (2:08.06).

Russ Kempf was 15th in the 60m dash (7.24), followed by Omari Douglas-Hall (16th, 7.27) and Dan Levine (20th, 7.30).

Yale had two of the top three performances in the 4x800m relay, with the "A" team second (7:47.77) and the "B" team third (7:59.91). The "C" team was sixth (8:32.09). Yale's 4x400m relay team finished fifth (3:20.00).

The Bulldogs return to action next Saturday at Dartmouth with Columbia.
