O'Brien and Distance Relay Team Post Wins at Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale won the distance medley relay and also took second to highlight the Bulldogs' performance at the Yale Collegiate Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Yale "C" team won with an IC4A qualifying time of 10:03.44, edging the "D" team which ran 10:04.89.
Dan O'Brien won the 60-meter hurdles with an IC4A qualifying time of 8.22.
In field events, Reynolds Holmes took second in the long jump with a leap of 7.08 meters, while John Langhauser took second in the shot put with an IC4A qualifying toss of 16.79 meters, just .01 meters behind winner Andrew Dubs of University of Connecticut.
In the 3000-meter run, Brian Hanak was third with a time of 8:43.95. The 4x800-meter relay team was second with an IC4A qualifying time of 7:44.93, barely edged out by Southern Connecticut State University (7:44.90).
Yale will be hosting Dartmouth and Columbia next Sunday.
