Bulldogs Defeat Columbia, Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H. - Led by top performances in the field events by John Langhauser and Jihad Beauchman, Yale scored 86 points to beat Dartmouth (66) and Columbia (29).

Langhauser led the way by dominating in the shot put (16.39m) and weight throw (15.37m). His distance in the shot put is No. 5 all-time and the farthest a Yale athlete has thrown since Robert Greenlee, who threw a distance of 16.65m in 1967.

Yale also received wins from Victor Cheng in the 60m dash (6.96), Kevin Alexander in the 200m dash (22.28), and Shomari Taylor in the 500m run (1:05.74). Alexander and Taylor were also a part of the winning 4x400 meter relay (3:19.51) with Rob deLaski and Dan O'Brien.

To round out the distance events, Mark Falco won the 800 (1:55.82) and Patrick Dantzer took the mile run (4:10.98).

In field events, Matthew Lachman won the pole vault (4.28m). Beauchman was a double-winner for the Bulldogs in the triple jump (14.47m) and high jump (2.06m). Samuel Fox was second behind Beauchman with a jump of 2.03m, which ties the current freshman record held by David Hazelton '99 and James Brinegar '88.
