NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs got off to a strong start in the first day of competition at the Giegengack Invitational at Coxe Cage with top five finishes in four out of five events contested.
Kevin Alexander was third overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.07. This time ties for third fastest in school history with Nigel Malcolm, who ran the same time in 1997. Scott Giordano of Sacred Heart won with a time of 21.98, which breaks the previous facility record of 22.09 run by Brandon Giles last year. Dan O'Brien was fifth with a time of 22.56, good enough for 14th fastest in school history.
John Langhauser took second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.27 meters.
The Bulldogs will return Saturday for a full afternoon of competition.
