BOSTON - The Bulldogs had a strong finish to their indoor track season at the IC4A Championships in Boston. Earning a total of 28.50 points, the men's team had an eighth-place finish in a field of 46 teams. The 4x800-meter relay broke the former school record of nearly two decades to finish off the meet in convincing fashion, one of many strong finishes for the Bulldogs this weekend.

After breaking the school record in the 55-meter dash on Saturday, senior Victor Cheng finished sixth in the finals with a time of 6.39.

A highlight of the day came at the end of the meet, as the 4x800-meter relay cruised to a second place finish. The team of senior Matthew Bordoni, junior Jared Bell, senior Tadhg O'Callaghan and sophomore Chris Labosky ran 7:29. 53 to break the 18-year-old record set in 1990 by Michael Palladino, Rick Wemple, Tim Johnson and Robert Lesko.

The Distance Medley relay of sophomores Kevin Brown and David Soiles, senior Nate Clute and junior Jake Gallagher finished fifth with a season-best time of 9:55.33.

In another contribution to the Bulldogs' point total, junior Murat Kayali placed second in mile run with a time of 4:08.05, barely being edged out by Iona's Evan Garber, who won in 4:07.98.

While this meet concludes the indoor track season, the outdoor season is fast approaching. The Bulldogs will travel to California this week to begin outdoor training, and will compete at the UC-Irvine Invitational in two weeks.
