Jihad Beauchman earned fifth place in the triple jump, while Josh Yelsey ran to a 5th place finish in the 1500-meter run, as the Elis competed in the first day of action at the Duke Invitational in Durham, NC.

Beauchman recorded a distance of 14.52 meters to earn fifth in the triple jump, while Yelsey ran a time of 3:48.83 to grab fifth in the 1500-meter run. Teammate Casey Moriarty came in 13th in the event with a time of 3:53.37.

The Elis continue competition tomorrow, when the remainder of events will be completed.
