Giles Takes Fourth on Day One at the Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Elis ended the first day of competition with 18 points in 10th place Friday at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William and Mary at Cary Field. Brandon Giles was the highest placer for the Bulldogs, taking fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.76.

Behind Giles in the 100-meter dash was Victor Cheng in seventh with a time of 10.86. In the 200-meter dash, Russ Kempf, Cheng and Giles were sixth, seventh and eighth with times of 22.01, 22.02 and 22.03.

Matthew Bordoni was seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.57. In the 1,500-meter run, Brian Gertzen was seventh with a time of 3:50.98. Rounding out the distance events was an eighth place finish by Jake Gallagher with a time of 14:32.74.

Dan O'Brien qualified for finals in the 110-meter hurdles, placing fifth with a time of 14.83. Finals will take place on Saturday.
