Elis Take Second at Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Elis took second at the Brown Invitational with 149 points Saturday afternoon. Brown was first with 249 points. Kevin Alexander was a double-winner, taking the 200-meter dash in 21.62 and the 400-meter dash in 47.39, qualifying for the IC4As in both.

Victor Cheng was second behind Alexander in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.78. Cheng also won the 100-meter dash in a hand-held time of 10.4, after running 10.79 FAT in the trials, an IC4A qualifying mark.

In the distance events, Patrick Dantzer won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:26.99.

The shot put was won by John Langhauser with a toss of 16.94 meters, a new personal record.

The Elis had a number of other top three finishes: Matthew Bordoni was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.94, just missing winner Jordan Kinley of Brown (1:53.81). The 4x400-meter relay team was second with a time of 3:17.63. Despite poor handoffs, the 4x100-meter relay team was third (41.92).

Samuel Fox was third in the high jump (2.04 meters). Jeffrey Lachman and Nathan Noll took second and third in the discus with throws of 48.63 and 47.66 meters.
