Elis Win Seven Events at Springtime Invite

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Elis hosted the annual Yale Springtime Invitational Sunday afternoon at Cuyler Field and Dwyer Track. Victor Cheng won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.72, which ties the sixth fastest time in school history (Calvin Anderson in 1991).

Cheng was also a part of the first place 4x100-meter relay team (41.54) with Brandon Giles, Russ Kempf and Omari Douglas-Hall. Giles was also second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.75 and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.73. Cheng was third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.82.

John Langhauser won the shot put with a distance of 17.30 meters, while teammate Jeffrey Lachman was third with a distance of 15.53 meters. The javelin throw was won by Jackson Womack with a distance of 56.28 meters.

Other events won include the 800-meter run, where Andrew Pitts won with a time of 1:55.45 and the long jump, which Reynolds Holmes captured with a leap of 7.11 meters. Yale also took the first two spots in the 1,500-meter run with John Hinkle leading the way at 3:59.67 and Tadhg O'Callaghan in second with a time of 4:00.05.

Andrew Samuel was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Dan O'Brien was second in the 110-meter hurdles, missing the regional qualifying time by .07 with his time of 14.37.

In the high jump, Samuel Fox was third at a height of 1.99 meters.
