Meyer Earns All-America Status, Finishes 12th at NCAA Championships

Sacramento, CA - Lucas Meyer finished his Yale career Friday night in the NCAA finals of the steeplechase, posting a 12th-place finish. Meyer's time of 8:45.60 was just behind Northern Arizona's Henrik Ahnstrom (11th, 8:45.05). As one of the top eight American finishers, he earned All-America status. Texas-El Paso's Mircea Bogdan won with a time of 8:27.29.

Meyer earned his way into the finals with a school-record time of 8:36.39 in the prelims Wednesday night. Meyer's mark broke the record of 8:40.13 set by Jim Gibson in 1988. Meyer had nearly broken the mark at NCAA Regionals May 28 with a time of 8:41.37.
