Seven Yale Athletes Earn All-Ivy Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Ivy League recently announced the 2008 All-Ivy selections for men's outdoor track and field, which were based on performances at the Heptagonal Championships this past weekend. Seven Yale athletes were honored, with first-place finishes at the meet earning first-team honors and second-place finishes earning second-team honors. Senior Victor Cheng was one of only three individual double winners at the meet, earning a first-team selection for his wins in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Cheng was also a member of the first-place 4x100-meter relay team, which also included sophomore Reynolds Holmes, freshman Marty Evans and junior Brandon Giles. The All-Ivy team also included three field event athletes: sophomore Eric DePalo (first team, pole vault), junior Nathan Noll (first team, discus throw) and sophomore Reynolds Holmes (second team, long jump).
