Perrella Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Status

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Jeff Perrella earned Division I All-Academic Cross Country status for the 2010 cross country season by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), announced last Monday. A total of 56 runners from 42 schools received All-Academic status.

Perrella, the senior captain for the 2010 cross country season, has played a huge role for the Bulldogs since transferring from the College of William and Mary to Yale in 2007. Perrella earned both All-Ivy and All-East honors last season and became the first Bulldog to qualify for the NCAA National Championships since 2004.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or placed in the NCAA region's top 15 or top 10 percent in 2010.
