Although the men's cross country team did not send enough runners to be scored at the Quinnipiac Invitational, several Bulldog athletes put up strong performances at the event.
Nathan Clute was the Elis' top finisher, coming in at 18th with a time of 27:36.9. Teammates Stephen Carden and Miles Farmer came in 23rd and 25th with times of 27:59.3 and 28.08.4, and Reed Mauser rounded out the Eli group with a time of 28:26.7, good for a 27 overall finish.
There were 84 total runners in the men's competition. With four entrants, the Elis were one short of having enough people to be scored, but the meet was good practice early in the season.
University of Connecticut edged out Quinnipiac for first place overall, 26 to 32 points.
